5 Tips for Getting a Great Headshot

Steps that will take your photo from awkward to awesome...

After years of working with different people, I've found a some secrets that really help with getting a great photo.
If you can get yourself to be silly... make some funny faces... when you're done you will naturally relax to "your" smile. This is a technique I have used for years. Below are 5 quick tips to help you with your next smile.

1: Close your eyes. If you're feeling nervous, take a few seconds to relax. 
2: Don't say “cheese” 
3: Relax your face and jaw muscles. 
4: Think about something that makes you happy. 
5: Get goofy.


If you can follow those five steps you will see a huge difference in the photo you're able to take. Let yourself relax and allow the real you to come out! Getting your picture taken should be enjoyable, so remember to have more fun!

When a veteran brother calls and asks you to do a special shoot for their daughter's sweet 16 you just can't say no. Thank you for letting us be apart of creating this great memory you will now have in these photos for years to come. We all had a great time and I hope this can make up for some of the things she will miss this year.
